Liberal Western democracies of the Anglosphere are based on “one-person-one-vote” and “equal rights for all” but these fundamental principles die at the border. This is no better illustrated than by the liberal democracies Australia and Canada led by PMs Malcom Turnbull and Justin Trudeau, respectively, that arguably rank equal second after the United States as supporters of Israel, an Apartheid rogue state that denies the vote to 73% of its now 52% majority Indigenous Palestinian subjects, denies all human rights to the Occupied Palestinians, and denies equal rights to “lucky” Palestinian Israelis by Nazi-style race laws.
Australia and Canada are prosperous, White sister countries of the British Commonwealth. They are liberal, one-person-one-vote democracies with good education access, a good social safety net and universal health care. At a personal level, Australians endear through their rough diamond friendliness and Canadians endear through their more polite and restrained friendliness. Australia is presently ruled by an all-smiles, oh-so-charming, ostensibly “small l” liberal, Centre-Right Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull who heads an ostensibly Centre-Right Liberal Party-National Party Coalition.
Canada is presently ruled by a youthful, charming, ostensibly “small l” liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who heads a Centre-Right Liberal Party Government. Science-informed diabetics will thank Canadian scientists Banting and Best for the discovery of insulin just as science-informed people suffering bacterial infection will thank Howard Florey the Australian pharmacologist and pathologist who shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945 with Sir Ernst Boris Chain and Sir Alexander Fleming for the development of penicillin.
However there is a dark side to both Australia and Canada relating to their being, like Apartheid Israel, the products of genocidal European colonization. The Indigenous Australian population dropped from about 1 million to 0.1 million in the first century after the British invasion in 1788 due to dispossession, deprivation, violence and disease. When violent genocide finally ceased in the late 1920s, the Aboriginal Genocide continued through deprivation, ethnocide and the forced removal of children from their mothers that is presently at historically high levels (noting that today Aboriginal children are being removed not on the basis of genocidally racist ideology but by well-meaning state authorities from impoverished and dysfunctional families). Canada has a similar genocidal history in relation to First Nations people that also included forced, race-based child removal polices that only ceased within living memory.
War and genocide are the ultimate expressions of racism. As US or UK lackeys Australians have invaded 85 countries as compared to Canada 25, the British 193, France 82, the US 70 (50 after WW2), Germany 39, Japan 30, Russia 25, Apartheid Israel 12 and China 2 (Google “Stop state terrorism”). Of Australia’s 85 invasions, some 30 are associated with genocide. Canada’s international war criminal record is more modest. Indeed during WW2 the British with Australian complicity deliberately starved 6-7 million Indian to death in the man-made, 1942-1945 Bengal Famine (Bengali Holocaust). Australia was complicit in this horrendous atrocity by withholding food from its huge wartime grain stores of circa 20 million tonnes from starving India. In stark contrast, the Canadian Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King offered 10,000 tones of wheat from starving Bengal but this was blocked by UK PM Winston Churchill (see Gideon Polya, “Jane Austen and the Black Hole of British History” that is now available for free perusal on the web).
The present leaders of Australia and Canada are ostensibly “nice” and “progressive” people. Thus, for example, when Canadian PM Justin Trudeau was asked why half his Cabinet were women he famously replied “Because it’s 2015”. In similar vein, US lackey PM Malcolm Turnbull described the Donald Trump’s “locker room” comments about women as “loathsome”. However when it comes to Apartheid Israel and its ongoing Palestinian Genocide, both Turnbull and Trudeau follow the Zionist-subverted Mainstream line which labels the perpetrator as a victim of Palestinian terrorism, falsely describes democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel as a “democracy”, demonizes the Palestinians as linked to “terrorism”, and highly offensively and falsely conflates Apartheid Israel with all Jews – a gross defamation of numerous anti-racist Jews who utterly deplore the genocidal crimes of Apartheid Israel. It is not unreasonable to describe such conflation as Jew-defaming anti-Jewish anti-Semitism – indeed, anti-racist Jews declare of Apartheid Israel’s conduct “Not in my name” and “Never again to anyone”.
Canadian PM Trudeau would do well to listen to outstanding anti-racist Jewish Canadian writer and activist Naomi Klein on “never again to anyone”: “There is a debate among Jews - I'm a Jew by the way. The debate boils down to the question: "Never again to everyone, or never again to us?... [Some Jews] even think we get one get-away-with-genocide-free card...There is another strain in the Jewish tradition that say[s], 'Never again to anyone.”” (Google “Jews Against Racist Zionism”) .
Likewise Australian PM Turnbull should listen to outstanding anti-racist Jewish Australian Professor Peter Slezak on “never again to anyone”: “I am a secular, atheist, assimilated, non-Zionist Jew… Both my parents survived the Holocaust … My eighty-three year-old mother is a survivor of the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz. I grew up with her questions: Why didn’t anyone help the Jews? Why didn’t anyone else care? Why did the world allow it to happen? These are the same questions we must ask today about the crimes against the Palestinians. So I’m here because the State if Israel does not represent all Jews. If we have learned the real meaning of the slogan “never again”, we can’t remain silent when the crimes are being committed in our name. We must universalize the lessons of our own tragedy to include others in our moral universe… right now we are all Palestinians.”
However Malcolm Turnbull opined in his first Federal Parliament speech as Federal MP for the rich Sydney electorate of Wentworth (2004): “Wentworth has the largest Jewish community in our city. The community has grown stronger with successive waves of immigration from Europe, from Russia, from Israel and from South Africa. Their generous community spirit, their family pride and tireless enterprise are admired by all of us. Australia is a good friend of Israel, the Middle East's only democracy. We have been resolute in supporting Israel's right to take the necessary steps to defend itself from terror. The death of Arafat has now opened up new opportunities for peace based on the roadmap—two states within secure, internationally recognised boundaries. We must hope and pray that all parties, in the words of King David's 34th Psalm, do not merely `seek' peace but `pursue' it” (Malcolm Turnbull, “First speech”, 2004).). Not a word about Israeli Apartheid, war crimes, human rights abuses and ongoing Palestinian Genocide.
Similarly, Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau asserted in a statement in celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut, the Israeli Independence Day (12 May 2016): “Today, we celebrate the 68th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel with our Israeli friends and Jewish communities, both here in Canada, and around the world. The State of Israel is a thriving and vibrant country, which Canada is proud to call a close partner and steadfast ally. Canada and Israel unite in their people-to-people ties, shared values, respect for democracy, and growing trade relationship. I look forward to continuing to strengthen our strong friendship. Although today is a joyous day, let us also reflect on the threat that Israel and its people continue to face throughout the world in the form of terrorist attacks, acts of anti-Semitism, and religious intolerance. Canada stands with Israel and will continue to promote peace and stability in the region. On behalf of Sophie and our children, I wish everyone celebrating Israel’s Independence Day a Yom Ha’atzmaut Sameach. Shalom” (Justin Trudeau, “Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on Israel Independence Day”, 12 May 2016).
Not a word from pro-Zionist US lackeys Turnbull and Trudeau or their political associates about genocidally violent, world-wide US Alliance anti-Arab anti-Semitism, the ongoing Palestinian Genocide or Israeli Apartheid. Indeed Canadian PM Trudeau rejects the assertion of Israeli Apartheid, tweeting: “The BDS movement, like Israeli Apartheid Week, has no place on Canadian campuses”. Australian PM Turnbull has shockingly invited the serial war criminal and Apartheid Israeli PM Netanyahu to visit one-person-one-vote-based Australia and address the Australian Federal Parliament. Turnbull and Trudeau must be condemned as democratically elected leaders who after Obama and Trump lead the world in backing Apartheid Israel that prevents 73% of its now 52% majority Palestinian subjects from voting for the government ruling them. Turnbull and Trudeau must be condemned for supporting a neo-Nazi regime that violates the UN International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid that defines the crime of Apartheid as "inhuman acts committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them."
Numerous anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish intellectuals and leaders have condemned Israeli Apartheid. Indeed former South African prime minister, and the architect of South Africa's racist apartheid policies, Hendrik Verwoerd has stated (1961): "They took Israel away from the Arabs after the Arabs lived there for a thousand years. In that, I agree with them. Israel, like South Africa, is an apartheid state". Indeed Israeli Apartheid is so flagrant that, as exampled below, former Israeli leaders explicitly recognize the Apartheid that Turnbull and Trudeau implicitly deny:
Thus Michael Ben-Yair (Apartheid Israel’s attorney general from 1993 to 1996): “We enthusiastically chose to become a colonial society, ignoring international treaties, expropriating lands, transferring settlers from Israel to the occupied territories …. We developed two judicial systems: one — progressive, liberal in Israel. The other — cruel, injurious in the occupied territories. In effect, we established an apartheid regime in the occupied territories immediately following their capture” (Michael Ben-Yair quoted in Murray Dobbin, “Justin Trudeau’s shame: extending carte blanche to Israel”, Counterpunch, 4 March 2016 ).
Ehud Olmert (Prime Minister of Apartheid Israel, 2006-2009; Cabinet minister 1988- 1992 and 2003-2006 ): “If the day comes when the two state solution collapses, and we face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights…the State of Israel is finished” (Ehud Olmert quoted in Murray Dobbin, “Justin Trudeau’s shame: extending carte blanche to Israel”, Counterpunch, 4 March 2016).
Shulamit Aloni (Jewish Israeli lawyer, founder of the Ratz party, leader of the Meretz party, Apartheid Israel Minister of Education from 1992-1993 under PM Yitzhak Rabin, and awarded both the Israel Prize and the Emil Grunzweig Human Rights Award by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel) (2007): “Yes, there is apartheid in Israel… Jewish self-righteousness is taken for granted among ourselves to such an extent that we fail to see what’s right in front of our eyes. It’s simply inconceivable that the ultimate victims, the Jews, can carry out evil deeds. Nevertheless, the state of Israel practises its own, quite violent, form of Apartheid with the native Palestinian population.
The US Jewish Establishment’s onslaught on former President Jimmy Carter is based on him daring to tell the truth which is known to all: through its army, the government of Israel practises a brutal form of Apartheid in the territory it occupies. Its army has turned every Palestinian village and town into a fenced-in, or blocked-in, detention camp. All this is done in order to keep an eye on the population’s movements and to make its life difficult. Israel even imposes a total curfew whenever the settlers, who have illegally usurped the Palestinians’ land, celebrate their holidays or conduct their parades” (Shulamit Aloni, “Yes, there is Apartheid in Israel”, Counterpunch, 8 January 2007 ).
Ehud Barak (former prime minister of Apartheid Israel and current defence minister) (2010): “If, and as long as between the Jordan and the sea, there is only one political entity, named Israel, it will end up being either non-Jewish or non-democratic... If the Palestinians vote in elections, it is a binational state, and if they don't, it is an apartheid state” (Ehud Barak quoted in “Ehud Barak breaks the Apartheid barrier”, The Economist, 15 February 2010 ).
For most of the latter half of the 20th century most of the world united to peacefully oppose “the crime of Apartheid” by boycotts and sanctions against Apartheid in South Africa that was variously and shamefully backed by the UK, US, Apartheid Israel and by an Apartheid Australia that only commenced to count its Indigenous inhabitants as full citizens in about 1970. However, as detailed below, Australian PM Turnbull and Canadian PM Trudeau are totally and vociferously opposed to the peaceful and international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israeli Apartheid.Tony Clement (Conservative Muskoka) moved the following anti-BDS motion that was passed 229 to 51 on 22 February 2016 and was supported by all the Conservatives and all the Liberals, including Justin Trudeau, except for René Arseneault (Liberal, Madawaska—Restigouche) and Larry Bagnell (Liberal, Yukon), and opposed by all the New Democratic Party (NDP) members and by Rhéal Fortin (Rivière-du-Nord) of the Bloc Québécois: “That, given Canada and Israel share a long history of friendship as well as economic and diplomatic relations, the House reject the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which promotes the demonization and delegitimization of the State of Israel, and call upon the government to condemn any and all attempts by Canadian organizations, groups or individuals to promote the BDS movement, both here at home and abroad” (Parliament of Canada, House of Commons, Vote number 14, 42nd Parliament, 1st session, 22 February 2016 ).
Mr. Turnbull addressing the Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV) said, “We condemn the BDS campaign…which is aimed at delegitimising Israel…the end of the BDS campaign is the end of Israel” (Malcolm Turnbull quoted in “Malcolm Turnbull addresses JCCV”, JCCV, 26 April 2013). Indeed Turnbull’s Liberal Party Deputy and Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, threatened to cut off all Federal funding from people backing BDS (noting that such a ban would apply to numerous anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australian academic scholars).
Antonia Zerbisias ( award-winning Canadian journalist, reporter and TV host for the Toronto Star and the CBC) on pro-Zionist Justin Trudeau (2015): “When Stephen Harper's Conservatives were voted out of power in Canada last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lost the man Haaretz once termed his "closest ally" and "the foreign leader friendliest to Israel"… In speeches at Canadian synagogues, he has asserted that his party "will have Israel's back" because it is "the only real democracy in the Middle East", sharing "the very values and ideals that define Canada: values of openness, respect, compassion, which seek for justice, search for peace…" On Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), he has been strongly opposed, in speeches and even tweeting, in both English and French, complete with a hashtag coined by anti-BDS students, "The BDS movement, like Israeli Apartheid Week, has no place on Canadian campuses. As a @McGillU alum, I'm disappointed. #EnoughIsEnough" (Antonia Zerbisias, “Israel need not worry about Justin Trudeau. Stephen Harper may have left the building but when it comes to Israel, he haunts us still”, Al Jazeera, 11 November 2015).
The recent death of pro-Zionist Jewish Canadian singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen prompted world-wide mourning from his numerous fans including the serial war criminal Apartheid Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, the war crimes-complicit President of Apartheid Israel, Reuven Rivlin, and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. However, missing from the Mainstream media coverage outside Apartheid Israel was Leonard Cohen’s shameful role, together with that of many other performers, as a Zionist collaborator through repeated concert tours of Apartheid Israel. Justin Trudeau is evidently doing his best to inherit his Conservative predecessor Stephen Harper’s endorsement from Netanyahu as "the foreign leader friendliest to Israel". Indeed, notwithstanding their politically correct,”2-state-solution” and “peace process” rhetoric, the Western Mainstream media, politician and academic presstitutes that dominate Western societies have utterly disgraced themselves and their countries for decades as Zionist collaborators supporting Apartheid Israel and hence its ongoing Palestinian Genocide. Australian PM Turnbull and Canadian PM Trudeau have soiled themselves and their respective countries as world leading supporters of this genocidal Apartheid rogue state, the crimes of which are summarized below:
Since the mid-1930s there have been 2 million Palestinian deaths from Zionist violence (0.1 million) or Zionist-imposed deprivation (1.9 million ); there are 7 million Palestinian refugees and all of the over 12 million Palestinians are variously excluded from all or part of Palestine; of over 12 million Palestinians (half of them children), 6 million are forbidden to even step foot in their own country, 4.7 million are held hostage with zero human rights under Israeli guns in the Gaza Concentration Camp (2.0 million) or in ever-dwindling West Bank Bantustan ghettoes (2.7 million), and 1.7 million live as Third Class citizens as Israeli Palestinians under Nazi-style Apartheid Israeli race laws; 90% of Palestine has now been ethnically cleansed of Indigenous Palestinian inhabitants; GDP per capita is US$3,000 for Occupied Palestinians as compared to US$38,000 for Apartheid Israel; each year Apartheid Israel kills about 5,000 Palestinians, 90% by imposed deprivation and about 10% by violence; Apartheid Israel threatens the world with up to 400 nuclear weapons and ignores international laws and conventions; and of the now 52% majority Indigenous Palestinian subjects of Apartheid Israel, 73% are prevented by the racist Zionists (RZs) from voting for the government ruling them.
For anti-racist Jews and indeed all anti-racist humanitarians the core moral messages from the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million dead, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation) and from the more general WW2 European Holocaust (30 million Slav, Jewish and Gypsy dead) are “zero tolerance for racism”, “never again to anyone”, “bear witness” and “zero tolerance for lying”. It is now too late for the late Leonard Cohen to “bear witness” to the horrendous and genocidal crimes of the racist Zionists (RZs). Decent anti-racist people around the word must (a) inform everyone they can, (b) urge and apply Boycotts. Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all the people, politicians, parties, countries, companies and corporations complicit in the racist Zionist Palestinian Genocide by Apartheid Israel (just as BDS was successfully applied against US-, UK-, Australia- and Apartheid Israel-backed Apartheid South Africa), and (c) declare that Zionism is genocidal racism and the racist Zionists and that their supporters must be sidelined from public life as have been Nazis, neo-Nazis, Apartheid and the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
US lackey Australia under the Zionist collaborator Lib-Labs (governing Liberal Party-National Party Coalition and Labor Opposition) has become equal second with Canada after the US as a supporter of Apartheid Israel, yet this support for an Apartheid rogue state grossly violates the fundamental rule that all politicians in a democracy must be unequivocally committed to one-person-one-vote. Further, the Orwellian Australian Lib-Labs falsely declare democracy-denying Apartheid Israel to be “the only democracy in the Middle East” and have declared Hamas, the party that in 2006 overwhelmingly won the Occupied Palestinian elections under Israeli guns, to be a “terrorist organization”.
The Australian Lib-Labs, like the Canadian Conservatives under Stephen Harper and the Canadian Liberals under Justin Trudeau, go much further in their obscene racism – they are (a) anti-Arab anti-Semitic in their blind support for the US War on Muslims (aka the US War on Terror, the Muslim Holocaust, Muslim Genocide; about 30 million Muslims have died from violence (3 million) or from imposed deprivation (27 million) in 20 countries invaded by the US Alliance since the US Government’s 9-11 false flag atrocity that very likely involved Israel and Saudi Arabia) and (b) Jew-defaming anti-Jewish anti-Semitic (by falsely conflating Apartheid Israel, the Palestinian Genocide, the Muslim Holocaust, and the Muslim Genocide with all Jews, and falsely describing the genocidal racist entity ruling all of Palestine and parts of Syria and Lebanon as a “Jewish State” when 52% of its subjects are Indigenous Palestinians and all anti-racist Jews oppose Israeli Apartheid and genocide).
The problem with unaddressed racism is where does it stop? 17 million people die avoidably from deprivation each year on Spaceship Earth with the US-dominated First World including Australia and Canada, in charge of the flight deck. This Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust has involved 1.5 billion such avoidable deaths since 1950, and is now clearly being impacted by climate change albeit to an uncertain degree. However the World Health Organization (WHO) has determined that 7 million people die annually from air pollution, this including 75,000 dying due to pollutants from the combustion of Australia’s world-leading coal exports and 10,000 Australians. Only 2 Australians have ever been killed in Australia by a Muslim-foreign terrorist whereas 85,000 Australians die preventably each year, this including the 10,000 dying from air pollution. Yet the pro-coal, pro-oil, pro-gas, anti-science, terracidal, US lackey Australian Lib-Labs commit about $11 billion annually to persecuting and killing Muslims abroad instead of keeping Australians alive at home. Similarly, about 100,000 Canadians die preventably each year, but US lackey Canada commits billions of dollars annually to the US War on Terror rather than keeping Canadians alive at home.
It gets worse – an estimated 10 billion people may die this century in a worsening Climate Genocide if man-made climate change is not requisitely addressed. Terracidally climate criminal Australia and Canada are among the world leaders in annual per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution and climate change inaction. Thus the annual per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution in “tonnes CO2-equivalent per person per year” is 52.9 for Australia (116 if including its huge GHG-generating exports) and 50.1 for Canada, as compared to 366.9 for Belize, 8.9 for the world, 41.0 for the US, 7.4 for China, and 2.1 for India. Climate criminal Australia under PM Turnbull is almost the worst country in the world for climate change inaction with policies of unlimited, world-leading coal and gas exports It seems likely that with North America under an effective climate change denialist Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and an explicit climate change denialist US President Donald Trump, the Keystone XL pipeline from the Alberta oil sands to Texas will go ahead, notwithstanding the expert assertion from Professor James Hansen of 100-Nobel-Laureate Columbia University that Keystone XL means “game over” for the climate.
Thanks to “manufacturing consent” by endlessly lying Mainstream media, Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and their respective countries have utterly undeserved reputations for being “nice”, “progressive” and small “l” liberal whereas the complete opposite is true. One is reminded of Samuel Butler’s novel “Erewhon” (roughly, “nowhere” backwards) in which sociopaths were treated with great solicitude and sick people treated like criminals. Mainstream journalist, politicians and academic presstitutes – precisely those liars by omission whose opinions are canvassed by elite media such as the ABC and the CBC (the Australian and Canadian equivalents of the UK BBC) - have failed to call out Turnbull and Trudeau for their support for Apartheid Israel, for their opposition to the peaceful, anti-Apartheid BDS movement, and for their effective climate change denialism that threatens a deadly and terminal New Apartheid that will wipe out most of Humanity in a worsening Climate Genocide.
The obscenity of Turnbull-, Trudeau-, Australia- and Canada-supported Israeli Apartheid is the least of it. There is a new global Apartheid system in which 17 million people presently die avoidably each year from deprivation in the below-decks Third World of Spaceship Earth with the First World, notably the rich, white Anglosphere countries, in charge of the flight deck. Several leading climate scientists have suggested that only 0.5 billion people may survive unaddressed global warming this century, an ultimate and near-terminal New Apartheid scenario in which a worsening Climate Genocide results in the actual wiping out of most of Humanity and in particular the poor that cannot afford survival in temperate mountain retreats. The New Apartheid already denies many people not just the right to vote but also the right to life.
There must be zero tolerance for racism in general and genocidal racism in particular. Whatever their political position on the ideological continuum from socialism to neoliberalism, political candidates and political representatives must be held to a minimal fundamental standard of equal rights for all, and that in ostensible democracies this includes one-person-one-vote. Israeli Apartheid is just as evil and utterly unacceptable to decent humanity as was the former South African Apartheid. In their world-leading support for Apartheid Israel and their fervent opposition to the only peaceful measures against it, namely Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull and Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and their respective parties must be censured as utterly unacceptably pro-Apartheid by their voting constituencies and by international opinion.
If Turnbull and Trudeau were to espouse crude, Trump-like, bigoted, racist or anti-women positions they would be immediately finished politically, but it is testament to their dishonesty, their cowardice, voter ignorance and the power of the Zionist Lobby that they are world leaders in supporting democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel but get away with it. In Australia’s preferential voting system, anti-racist Australians must utterly reject the racist, pro-Apartheid, anti-BDS Lib-Labs (governing Coalition and Opposition Labor) , vote 1 Green and put the Coalition last. Anti-racist Canadians must utterly reject the overwhelmingly racist, pro-Apartheid, and anti-BDS Conservatives and Liberals.
Zionism is genocidal racism in awful colonialist theory and appalling genocidal practice. The Zionists and their supporters must be sidelined from public life as have been like racists such as the Nazis, neo-Nazis, and the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Decent, anti-racist folk around the world must urge and apply Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all people, politicians, parties, countries and corporations complicit in the racist obscenity that is Apartheid.
