The New York Times is reporting that Obama, in a futile effort to get out in front of the Egyptian crisis, is considering a proposal for Mubarak’s immediate resignation. He also is proposing that power be turned over to VP, Omar Suleiman and the military.
I have no idea how the mainstream media is playing this not so subtle attempt to divide and demoralize the pro-democracy forces. I only watch TV to tell me about the weather. You don’t need a weatherman however to tell you that Obama is a great shell game player, promising apparent change, then changing the masks while leaving the rotting face beneath intact—evidence his healthcare reform (sic), “clean” environment legislative initiatives, the Wall Street bailout fiasco, the declaration of “peace” in Iraq, etc., etc.
Suleiman has close ties to the U.S. military and the CIA.
Graduate of the infamous U.S. Special Warfare School at Fort Bragg (formerly The School of the Americas), he has been the CIA’s point man in Egypt for Obama’s official policies of murder, torture and other atrocities, implementing our secret extraordinary rendition program. Suleiman blamed the media for inciting the unrest among the people.
"I say to the youth, we thank you for what you have done. You are the spark that ignited the reconciliation during this time, and the nation has listened to all of your demands. We ask you to give the government a chance to fulfill its role. Do not allow rumors and the satellite channels to anger you against your government." –Omar Suleiman
I’m afraid Obama’s support for a man, who by all indicators is even more brutal and corrupt that Mubarak, will only give the green light to the inevitable, brutal crackdown by the government. Our president’s unwavering support for the US/Israel puppet government in Egypt (no matter who the figurehead) is unconscionable. The blood of the Egyptian people is on the hands of our government as much as it is on the hands of Mubarak and Suleiman. May the gods damn Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. May the severest judgment of history be on their heads!
