Hersh drops a bombshell!

bin-laden-raid.

I've been waiting 20 months for Seymour Hersh to finally break this promised story. I have no idea why it took so long for the shoe to drop.

I just finished this Cy Hersh report and it is scathing enough to make your eyes bleed. The level of lies and atrocity are as shocking as his May Lai story. Of course not as many unarmed people were killed/assassinated--only one. Really-- only one. No bodyguards, no fire fights, no Osama defending himself, etc.

After reading this report, if anyone wants to believe Obama has one molecule of credibility left, he needs to have his head examined. This is such a tale of impulsive stupidity, deceit, criminality, duplicity and hubris that it truly boggles the imagination. I would like to tie any remaining Liberal supporter of Obama to a chair for a half an hour while I read this story (slowly for retention) to him until the pixie-dust tears from his eyes. Any legitimate government could not stand after a story like this.

I can't wait to see/hear how Obama tries to lie his way out of this late/breaking story Monday morning. Maybe he'll give Cy the Elizabeth Warren treatment, "He's wrong!" End of comment. That's how dictators talk! "The policemen at the back of the press-room will be happy to respond to any questions you may have."

Truly the most poignant, tragic part of this whole tale of infamy is the story of Dr. Shakil Afridi:

“A sacrificial lamb was needed, and the one chosen was Shakil Afridi, a 48-year-old Pakistani doctor and sometime CIA asset, who had been arrested by the Pakistanis in late May and accused of assisting the agency. ‘We went to the Pakistanis and said go after Afridi,’ the retired official said. ‘We had to cover the whole issue of how we got the DNA.’ It was soon reported that the CIA had organised a fake vaccination programme in Abbottabad with Afridi’s help in a failed attempt to obtain bin Laden’s DNA.

Afridi’s legitimate medical operation was run independently of local health authorities, was well financed and offered free vaccinations against hepatitis B. Posters advertising the programme were displayed throughout the area.

Afridi was later accused of treason and sentenced to 33 years in prison because of his ties to an extremist. News of the CIA-sponsored programme created widespread anger in Pakistan, and led to the cancellation of other international vaccination programmes that were now seen as cover for American spying.”

The triple atrocity of this whole activity is, not only was an innocent man, doing legitimate humanitarian work, impugned and punished (33 years in prison) but the whole immunization program across the ME was compromised. This Obama lie has killed dozens of aid workers (and counting) and virtually halted humanitarian vaccinations because of suspicion of CIA collusion.

I originally thought Dr. Afridi was a scoundrel and deserved what he got. Now it turns out this was just part of a ruse to cover the Pakistani role in the assassination of bin Laden. Yes, the Pakistani ISI knew about the raid. Nothing we have been told about the raid and the aftermath by that lying SOB was true!

Postscript:

When leakers face persecution, prosecution or worse all the reputable sources for intel on the future will come from unidentified or otherwise secret sources. Hersh has spent his life establishing just such networks of secret and retired intel personnel who provide him with reliable information. The old days of double verified, identifiable sources and evidence are sadly over. We are left only with, "Do you trust Hersh or not?"

Already the long knives are out, calling him a conspiracy theorist who has gone off the rails.
