Your rally in Burlington, Vermont on January 7, 2016 was an interesting event. In planning the rally, your campaign distributed 20,000 tickets with full knowledge that the facility only accommodated 1,411. That was a successful political strategy.
The optics of having thousands standing out in the cold benefitted your campaign. But, there are now some questions. Will you compensate the town for the police required to insure safety for your overflow crowd? Vermonters should not be on the hook to subsidize your political ambitions. Is the check in the mail?
Another question. It has been reported that when the arrangements were made to rent the facility, your campaign assured the owner that all would be welcome and that there would be no loyalty check at the door. That was not how things turned out. Your 'muscle men' forced those with "Bernie" buttons to leave.
Some folks were treated with excessive rudeness. You even suggested that they not be allowed to take their coats with them as they were being 'thrown' out. There is a better way to get votes. Instead of coming to town accompanied by a goon squad, next time come with a team of doctors/dentists. Many Vermonters have no access to medical care. That brings up a question. What is your Medical Care Plan?
Also, it has been reported that when your representatives made the rental agreement it was to be a no-signs-allowed event. But then "Trump" signs were distributed to the crowd. Wasn't that deceptive? That was another major media manipulation to make it appear that only Trump supporters were present.
Since you paid to rent the site of the rally, you had the legal right to determine who was welcome and what speech was to be censored. You had the legal right, but was that the right thing to do? It certainly showed disrespect for the spirit of the First Amendment. The old philosophical argument about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, is changed forever. Now we debate how many billionaires would it take to delete the Constitution.
Mr. Trump, you are the Goliath on center stage, but somewhere out there, is a David. We are waiting. Sooner or later, he will appear.
Just one more issue. You have made your position on religion very clear. Your plan shows preferential treatment for certain religions. That is inconsistent with the U.S. Constitution. If you win the election, will you refuse to take the oath, or will you perjure yourself? Article 2, Section 1 of the United States Constitution specifies the Presidential Oath of Office.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States".
