Cases of Diabetes Is on the Rise. Here’s What You Need to Know

According to recent studies compiled by the University of Arizona and its MSN online department, diabetes is one of the most commonly occurring chronic conditions today. More people in the United States and across the globe now suffer from type 2 diabetes than ever before.

The causes of this type of diabetes are, among other things, obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle. Lack of sleep and a bad diet can quickly lower the body’s ability to produce and absorb insulin, causing type 2 diabetes to become a serious condition.

Unlike type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes is actually preventable. Unfortunately, the chronic condition could also lead to other more serious health problems, including blindness and heart attacks. Diabetes is also known to be the contributing factor in many cases of kidney disease.
